Nemesis Mode

Nemesis Mode is triggered when another kingdom wages sustained aggression against you. When the threshold is crossed, the attacker is flagged as your Nemesis and a bonus score window opens. You earn score by retaliating against them through any means - fleet attacks, missiles, or probes.

It is a revenge mechanic with real scoring implications, and understanding it matters whether you are on the receiving end or the one who has tripped it.

How It Is Triggered

Nemesis Mode activates against you automatically when another player crosses either of these thresholds within a short window:

  • 4 or more successful fleet or missile attacks against your kingdom
  • 20 or more successful probe missions targeting you

When this happens, that player is added to your Nemesis list and a score cap is set based on 5% of their current score. The higher ranked they are, the more valuable the score opportunity.

Earning Nemesis Score

Once a Nemesis is active, any successful action you take against that specific player contributes to your Nemesis score:

  • Fleet combat wins against them
  • Missile strikes on their kingdom
  • Successful probe missions targeting them

Score accumulates until you reach the cap. Once the cap is hit, Nemesis Mode concludes. You can see your progress on the Nemesis page, which shows a progress bar from zero to cap for each active nemesis.

Being Someone Else's Nemesis

If you have been aggressive enough to become another player's Nemesis, you will also see an alert on the Nemesis page under Victims. This tells you that the player is now motivated to retaliate against you for bonus score.

This is worth knowing before escalating a conflict. A player you have hammered repeatedly may now be targeting you specifically and earning bonus score for it.

Nemesis Concludes

Nemesis Mode concludes when:

  • The score cap is reached (vengeance complete)
  • The nemesis is eliminated or becomes irrelevant

Recently concluded nemesis entries remain visible for 24 hours.

Tips

  • If you have an active nemesis, prioritise retaliating before the window closes. The score cap is based on their score at the time it triggered, so acting quickly while their score is high maximises your gain.
  • Probe missions are the cheapest and fastest way to tick up nemesis score. Running a burst of probe missions against your nemesis is an efficient way to push toward the cap.
  • Be aware of how many times you are hitting the same target. Crossing the threshold that triggers nemesis on yourself may not be worth it depending on their score and how likely they are to retaliate effectively.
  • A well-timed fleet attack on a high-scoring nemesis can push you toward the cap in a single engagement if the battle goes well.
