Colonies
Every Kingdom can establish up to three Colonies across the galaxy. Each Colony must be placed on a different planet, encouraging players to spread their influence, tap into unique planetary bonuses, and secure strategic footholds across multiple regions.
A Colony provides an immediate economic boost based on the planet it is built on, increasing your Kingdom's long term income and growth potential. As Colonies level up through investment and development, they become stronger economic engines and contribute more to your overall power.
Planets are contested territory. The highest level Colony on a planet becomes its dominant ruler, granting additional score bonuses and influence. Other players may try to dislodge a ruler through colony combat, making planetary control an ongoing strategic battle.
Colony Combat and Defence
Colonies are not passive structures. As they level up, their defensive strength increases, making higher level Colonies harder to invade and destroy. Enemy fleets can attack your Colonies at any time - no war declaration is needed - and a successful assault loots the Colony's trade cache, earns a land reward based on its level, and has a 40% chance of downgrading it by one level.
You can reinforce a Colony by deploying fleets to orbit its planet. Orbiting fleets automatically join the Colony's garrison when it is attacked, and a strong defending fleet raises the level of punishment the garrison will absorb before it breaks. The defence wins by holding: if the garrison survives the full battle without routing, the attack fails.
After any resolved attack - won or repelled against a stronger force - the Colony enters a 6 hour lockdown during which it cannot be engaged again. Colonies can also be struck by missiles: a warhead with enough yield to beat the Colony's defences knocks a level off it and triggers the same lockdown, which caps how quickly repeated strikes can grind a Colony down. The lockdown is a military shield only - trade runs may still be dispatched and collect as normal while it holds; commerce does not stop for war.
Strategic placement, fleet readiness, and careful monitoring of threats all play a crucial role in keeping your Colonies safe while expanding your influence across the galaxy.
